School banking
We are pleased to announce that Okte Elementary School will once again be participating in the First Niagara School Banking Program. Each week students and staff will be able to make deposits into their own savings accounts.
- Banking is every Thursday morning in Computer Lab starting October 7, 2010
- The minimum deposit is 25 cents
- This banking program encourages frequency rather than amount of deposit
- Prizes are given every 7 times the children bank
- The current interest rate is 0.70% (APR 0.70) on balances less than $1,000
- The savings account belongs to the child, not their parent / guardian
- Only deposits can be made at school
- Deposits and withdrawals can be made at any branch of First Niagara Bank
- Semi-annual statements are mailed to the student's home
The first day of banking will be October 7, 2010. Students who already have an account will be able to make a deposit on that day.
If you would like to open a new account, please contact Kimberly Pacious @ 383-2053 or have your child pick up a new banker packet from the banking volunteers on Thursday mornings. Complete the necessary information and return it to school. Within approximately 2 weeks, First Niagara will mail you a letter with your banking materials. Bring the letter to school with your first deposit to begin banking at school.
Kindergarten students are welcome to participate!
Any questions, or to volunteer to help on Thursdays, please contact Kimberly Pacious @ 383-2053.
